Harry Bertoia designed the Wire Diamond Chair in 1952, it was part of a collection of wire chairs he designed for Knoll. The sculptural Wire Diamond Chair is a study of space, form, and function, with its unique bent and welded steel rod construction the chair is exceptionally strong and surprisingly comfortable. Bertoia considered himself to be a sculptor first, but it his work with metal that is most recognized.
